Although her annual COUNTDOWN LIVE has been canceled, Ayumi Hamasaki shared some good news on the first day of the new year: on March 12, her best album ” A BALLADS 2 ” will be released, exactly 18 years after the first.

The product will be available in five editions:

• 2CD + Blu-ray
• 2CD

This is not the only news: on Instagram, Ayumi shared the instrumental of the new song ” Pray for you “, a surprise scheduled for COUNTDOWN LIVE.

Speaking of COUNTDOWN LIVE, the singer has posted the concerts of the past years on Youtube for one day.

Ayumi Hamasaki teases new song “Pray for you”, uploads all of her CDL concerts to YouTube

These past few weeks have been a bit rough for Ayumi “AYU” Hamasaki fans. The state of her 2020-2021 CDL concert was temporarily in limbo due to new restrictions from the government regarding COVID-19, but the concert ultimately had to be cancelled due to one of the staff members testing positive for the virus. Luckily for her fans, Ayu had some surprises to cheer them up for the holiday season and new year.

At her CDL concert she was supposed to debut a brand new song called “Pray for you“. Instead, she has uploaded the entire instrumental of the song on her official Instagram account. The instrumental video features a summary of her live performances this year along with BTS footage.

A release date for “Pray for you” has not been revealed yet.

The next very exciting surprise came on her YouTube account. For a limited amount of time every single one of her Countdown Live concerts will be available for streaming in full! Checkout the full playlist with all 17 concerts by clicking this link.

Meanwhile, Ayu’s first 2021 release will be a DVD and blu-ray of her latest concert tour “ayumi hamasaki TROUBLE TOUR 2020 A – Saigo no Trouble – FINAL”. First press editions will come with a slipcase and 40 page photobook. It will hit store shelves on January 27th, 2021.

Sanspo is reporting that retired queen Namie Amuro will be releasing a brand new best album in 2021. Ever since her retirement in September 2018, her music has continued to maintain popularity. Amuro’s music is still even being used for marketing campaigns.

Just this month makeup and skincare giant KOSE created a campaign titled “You are my HERO” honoring health care workers. Amuro’s 43rd single “Hero” is currently being used for the campaign.

Her song “Christmas Wish” also continues to gain heavy rotation every time the Christmas and holiday season roll around.

The release date for the new compilation album has not been revealed yet, according to an entertainment spokesperson the final plans for the album may still be up in the air due to COVID-19. Despite that they hope that this album will bring another resurgence of her music, in turn helping cope with the pandemic.

Amuro has released six compilation albums in her career so far. Besides standard a-sides she has also released a collection of collaborations and ballads. She has yet to release a compilation album of b-sides or rarities.

Amuro’s last release was the 2017 best album “Finally”.

Empress Ayumi Hamasaki has just celebrated her 42nd birthday, and on her birthday successfully completed her second online live for “ayumi hamasaki TROUBLE TOUR 2020 A ~ Saigono Trouble ~ FINAL“.

Shortly after the concert was completed, Ayu wrote an entry on her fanclub Team Ayu blog where she revealed some very exciting news, she’s currently pregnant with her second child!

“A second angel is growing in my stomach”, Ayu looks forward to making her family even bigger, and thanked Team Ayu members for their continued support. An excerpt of her blog post is as follows:

On January 1st, 2020 Ayu suddenly revealed that she had given birth to a beautiful angel last year, keeping it secret from both the fans and public. The father of the baby has yet to be officially revealed by Ayu, and it is currently unknown if he is also the father of her second child.

A few weeks ago we brought you all the news on the 20th anniversary of Koda Kumi : the “KODA KUMI 20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2020 MY NAME IS …”, the new song and the new logo.

Yesterday, July 30, the official site gave another good news: Koda Kumi will release a new album entitled ” MY NAME IS … “. It will be released on 11 September exclusively for the official fanclub. We remind you that the tour will start the next day, that is September 12th.

The available edition will be a limited CD + DVD + GOODS: the CD will contain 21 tracks in all, including ” pouf ” and two unreleased songs; on the DVD you will find the “LIVE Best Selection” with the comments of Koda Kumi; GOODS consist of a t-shirt, a booklet and a sticker.

Ayumi Hamasaki is now officially back!

On June 5, the singer had released a new digital single: it was one of her few tracks with the Japanese title, or ” Ohia no Ki ” (オ ヒ ア の 木).

More than a month later, Ayumi has made a new announcement in the same way: a notice on Twitter to focus on a certain date and time.

And that’s how we learned about the release of another digital single! This time the title is in English: the new song is called ” Dreamed a Dream ” and will be released on July 31st.

What do we know about the song?

First, the cover’s visual concep t was revealed about a week ago on Instagram through a behind-the-scenes selfie.

Also on Instagram, more details were shared: the song is by Tetsuya Komuro, who now seems more active than ever after the announcement of the production of the new Nogizaka song46 .

Afterwards, two versions of the track are already available on Youtube until 30 July.
The first one has no accompanying instruments; the second has the basic chords with the piano.

Finally, fans are invited to create remix versions using these acapella versions and tag them with ” ayumix2020 “.

National treasure Ayumi Hamasaki has just surprise-released her new single “Ohia no Ki,” the first song in her discography with a non-romanized Japanese title.

On July 3 at midnight, a mysterious video was posted to the singer’s official Twitter page that teased a never before seen photo of Ayu glitching in for a single frame. The video read “July 4th 24:00 DON’T MISS IT,” and fans braced themselves for nothing special…a TikTok challenge…a perfume—but she said SURPRISE!

Fans mobbed her site at the teased time, momentarily crashing it.

The single marks her first original musical release since 2018’s “TROUBLE” EP, as well as her first single in 4 years. It comes the night after the airing of the finale episode of “M: Ai Subeki Hito ga Ite“, the drama based on her life that stars up-and-coming avex artist Kalen Anzai.

At the beginning of 2020, Ayumi Hamasaki revealed that she had given birth to a baby boy. The song opens with a dedication to him, and is about how he gave her a new outlook on life. The titular ohia references the ‘Ohi’a lehua, a flowering shrub native to the six largest islands of Hawaii.

The song was composed by Kazuhito Kikuchi, a frequent collaborator in the early years of Ayumi’s career. He began working with her on her 5th single “Depend on you” in 1998 and continued composing for her through 2006.

Ayumi Hamasaki’s new song “Ohia no Ki” has been distributed to most major streaming services (it’s not on Spotify at the time of writing this).
