Sanspo is reporting that retired queen Namie Amuro will be releasing a brand new best album in 2021. Ever since her retirement in September 2018, her music has continued to maintain popularity. Amuro’s music is still even being used for marketing campaigns.

Just this month makeup and skincare giant KOSE created a campaign titled “You are my HERO” honoring health care workers. Amuro’s 43rd single “Hero” is currently being used for the campaign.

Her song “Christmas Wish” also continues to gain heavy rotation every time the Christmas and holiday season roll around.

The release date for the new compilation album has not been revealed yet, according to an entertainment spokesperson the final plans for the album may still be up in the air due to COVID-19. Despite that they hope that this album will bring another resurgence of her music, in turn helping cope with the pandemic.

Amuro has released six compilation albums in her career so far. Besides standard a-sides she has also released a collection of collaborations and ballads. She has yet to release a compilation album of b-sides or rarities.

Amuro’s last release was the 2017 best album “Finally”.

“Hope” is the fifth digital single released by Amuro Namie. It was used as the 20th opening theme for the anime series ONE PIECE. The song was originally released in 2017 on Amuro’s career retrospective and sixth compilation album Finally, as track #13 on Disc 3. The digital single was released a few months later along with the announcement of her namie amuro Final Tour 2018 ~Finally~.

Finally is the sixth compilation album released by Amuro Namie. It was released in three versions: a 3CD+DVD edition, a 3CD+Blu-ray edition, and a 3CD edition. All the songs from “Mister U.S.A.” up to “TSUKI” have been re-recorded for the album, some of them with slightly different arrangements. The album comes with six new songs. The song “Showtime” was used as theme song for the TBS drama Princess Princess; “Hope” was used as the 20th opening theme for the anime ONE PIECE; “Do It For Love” was used as a CM song for Hulu; “Finally” was used as theme song for the Japanese TV show NEWS ZERO; “How do you feel now?” was used as theme song for the NTT docomo 25th Anniversary CM.

 On its 6th day of release, Namie Amuro’s all time best album “Finally” surpassed 1 million in sales. Amuro is the first artist to have a million-selling album in their teens, 20s, 30s and 40s.

Singer Namie Amuro has joined forces with 7-11 for their Christmas campaign. A brand new song titled “Christmas Wish” has been recorded for the project. A special music card of the song will be sold exclusively at 7-11, it will be the only way to purchase “Christmas Wish”. While supplies last a special poster will also be given to customers who purchase one of the new Christmas cakes featured in the campaign. “Christmas Wish” will allegedly *Wendy Williams voice* not be distributed on any future singles or albums. The only way to ever buy/own the song is to do so during the campaign.

In addition to this two new limited edition goods have been revealed for Namie’s current “LIVE STYLE 2016-2017” tour. An extravagant pop-up Christmas card priced at 1,700 yen and a holiday themed t-shirt priced at 4,000 yen. Pictures of the new goods, as well as the 15 second version plus behind the scenes footage of the “Christmas Wish” CM.
