On December 15, Chara release a new EP, “Inner Peace.” In addition to the title track, “Inner Peace” features another new song, “Totemo Aishiteru.” The other four songs on the release are covers: Peggy Lee‘s “Sing a Rainbow”, “Imagination” from “Sesame Street”, Randy Newman‘s “Snow”, and “Moon River” from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

Singer CHARA release her brand new album titled “Baby Bump”.

The veteran singers very first album release since transferring over to Universal Japan. For the album jacket design and concept, CHARA worked with artist Yuna Yoshida. The two have collaborated in the past, and Yoshida has done the art direction for Kaela Kimura, Perfume, and Gen Hoshino among others.

Long time fans will be in for a treat, as it’s reported “Baby Bump” sound like CHARA’s early work incorporating soul & dance music influences.

Singer-songwriter Chara is releasing her new album on July 19th! Titled Sympathy, the record will include 13 total tracks. Chara has collaborated with numerous artists for this disc, including KanSano, Kishida Shigeru (岸田 繁) of Quruli, kensukeushio of agraph, Kenmochi Hidefumi (ケンモチヒデフミ), mabanua, BASI, and TAKU.

Sympathy will be released in 2 editions: a regular album edition, and a limited edition containing an extra CD with 8 tracks recorded live at Chara’s “Tremolo Sparks” performance on January 22nd, 2017.

Japanese singer Chara as she has just celebrated a birthday major career: that of her 25 years in music. Chara began September 21, 1991 with the single ‘ Heaven ‘. 25 years later, she released a best-of titled ‘ Naked & Sweet ‘ in two different versions. Both editions will contain 45 songs divided into three CDs, but only the most limited edition will contain a bonus DVD with her live at Budokan , filmed in November 1994.
