Montreal-based singer-songwriter Vikki Gilmore has released her new EP, Someone, following her 2016 debut, Where You’re From. The young songstress has been working on her musical abilities since high school and has managed to score slots at both the POP Montreal and the Mural Festival.

Known for her meaningful narratives, Someone is a concise collection of maturely written stories; each touched with Gilmore’s hauntingly beautiful vocals. Her lyrics read like poetry put to music – whether she is singing about love, heartbreak, or perfectly human moments, she is not afraid of her vulnerability. Rather, she uses it to craft meaningful moments for her listeners. Highlights include the folk-darling and title track “Someone” for its whimsical melody and poignant lyrics, the sombre Ed Sheeran-esque “Forgiveness”, and the soulful, brooding on “Mountains” which feels like a kind of homage to the sounds of Florence & The Machine.

Someone is a fantastic EP in all aspects from the songs themselves to the overall production. With only five songs, Gilmore’s songwriting and musicianship will leave you anxious for more.

Pastelaria francesa, gelados artesanais, petiscos com nomes de realeza e uma decoração arrojada fazem desta nova confeitaria um lugar para se ficar sem palavras.

Tudo aqui foi pensado para impressionar, a começar pelo nome. O Gato Comeu-te a Língua abriu este verão e é muito mais do que uma simples confeitaria. «A intenção foi transmitir a ideia de ficar sem palavras porque gostamos de algo», explica Elsa Matos, que juntamente com o sócio, Vítor Sousa, fez nascer este novo recanto guloso na cidade. «Queremos fazer as pessoas felizes», nota Elsa, e nada melhor que uma casa cheia de doces para que tal aconteça.

Ao entrar sente-se o aroma dos crepes, de massa fina e saborosa, acabados de fazer. Estes são servidos com gelado e fruta fresca, ou em versão salgada, como a combinação figos, nozes, queijo mozarela e rúcula. Voltando aos gelados, há-os para todos os gostos, mas destacam-se os de fruta: banana, manga, frutos vermelhos e maracujá são alguns dos sabores que podem ser combinados em generosas copas, coroadas com fruta da época, numa colorida composição.

Na montra salta à vista a pastelaria francesa, dos croissants recheados às tarteletes, passando pelos éclairs. Há ainda espaço para bolos veganos, brownies e mini cheesecakes. Também há lugar para os salgados. Sopas, saladas, quiches e sanduíches estão disponíveis diariamente, assim como um seleção de petiscos com nomes de reis, rainhas, castelos e outras referências à monarquia portuguesa. Exemplo disso é a batalha de Ceuta, que dá nome ao prato de beringela e curgete recheada com carne de vitela e queijo mozarella.

A decoração divide o espaço em diversas zonas conceptuais. Predomina o aproveitamento de peças antigas, como armários, espelhos e louças, que são agora candeeiros. A sala de refeições é uma espécie de jardim – está forrada a papel de parede com folhas e papagaios coloridos e ainda plantas a pender do teto. Dá passagem para o lounge, repleto de sofás e livros. A completar a oferta da casa, o Gato até já tem uma linha de merchandise, que inclui peluches, porta-chaves e outros artigos. «As pessoas gostam de gatos», ri-se Elsa. E este promete deixar sem palavras quem aqui entra.

7 is the seventh studio album by French DJ and record producer David Guetta, released on 14 September 2018 by What a Music, Parlophone Records and Warner Music. Released as a double album, the collection features commercial pop collaborations on the first disc, whilst disc two features underground house music akin to Guetta’s starting roots as a DJ. The latter is credited to Jack Back, which Guetta revealed to be his alias and as a means to release more dance music alongside his pop collaborations. This side of the album was also released independently as a mixtape titled the Jack Back Project, preceded by the release of the song “Overtone”. 7 was made available to pre-order on 23 August 2018 via Guetta’s official website with options to pre-save the album stream on Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer, as well as purchase via Amazon as either a digital download, CD or vinyl.

On 7, Guetta is reunited with frequent collaborators Sia, Bebe Rexha, Nicki Minaj and Martin Garrix as well being joined by new collaborators Anne-Marie, Faouzia, Madison Beer, Charli XCX, French Montana, J Balvin, Jason Derulo, Willy William, Saweetie, Justin Bieber, Jess Glynne, Lil Uzi Vert, G-Eazy, Mally Mall, Delilah Montagu, Ava Max and CeCe Rogers who all contribute vocals to the album. Guetta worked with a range of different record producers amd DJs on the album, notably including Brooks, Ralph Wegner, Albert Harvey (half of dance duo GLOWINTHEDARK), Giorgio Tuinfort and Norwegian production duo Stargate, amongst others. The album was preceded by the release of nine singles over 2017-18, including “2U”, “Dirty Sexy Money”, “Like I Do”, “Flames”,”Your Love”, “Don’t Leave Me Alone”, “Goodbye” and “Drive”.

Cry Pretty is the sixth studio album by American country music singer and songwriter Carrie Underwood. The album was released on September 14, 2018, as Underwood’s first album with her new record label, Capitol Records Nashville after signing a global deal with Universal Music Group at the start of 2017. The album also marks the first co-producing effort by Underwood, who partnered with David Garcia for the record.

“Cry Pretty”, the first single from the album was released on April 11, 2018. It debuted at number 20 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, and was the most added song to Country Radio that week. The song topped the Digital Songs chart, becoming Underwood’s first song to do so and also debuted at number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100. On August 31, 2018, “Love Wins” was released as the second single from the album, alongside a lyric video.
